Supporting the Old Cholmeleians

“The more one gets involved the more rewarding the experience becomes.”

- OC President, Martin Pyrke (GH 1967)

Thousands of OCs have volunteered over the years to create the dynamic OC organisation we enjoy today.

Why not…

  • Run a sports team

  • Join a regional committee

  • Organise a reunion

  • Mentor another OC

  • Speak at or host an event?

Email oc@highgateschool.org.uk to tell us how you want to be involved.

Supporting the School

Support Careers and Employability

Thanks to OCs, pupils at Highgate and the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham have had the opportunity to gain fascinating insights into the world of work and the possibilities their futures could hold.

In the last few years, over 100 OCs have spoken at careers Q&As, offered mentoring, delivered practice interviews and featured in subject guides for pupils. This number continues to grow, with the annual Careers Fair in 2024 composed primarily of volunteer OC speakers.

Bursaries can change lives

Charles graduated from Highgate in 2019, and is reading Economics at the University of Warwick. He grew up with his mother and younger sister, and never thought he would attend a school like Highgate.

Watch the video to hear the impact that receiving a bursary had on his life.

Leave a legacy

The 1565 Society recognises the many Old Cholmeleians, parents and friends of the School who have pledged to leave a gift in their Will to Highgate, after providing for their loved ones.

You will be joining a loyal group of individuals who are helping to secure the future of their former school, and will be able to allocate your gift towards the cause of your choosing. We like to thank members of the 1565 Society with our annual Legacy Lunch.

If you have remembered us in your Will, or would like to know more, please contact the Development team by emailing development@highgateschool.org.uk.

“I have enjoyed a very full life and as I approach seventy, I recognise that it was my time at Highgate that gave me such a great start.

Highgate’s strong charitable ethos makes it very easy to support, they do so much to help those less advantaged, but for me there are two areas that particularly appeal.

It is not just philanthropy, I have to admit that the very advantageous inheritance tax-treatment of legacy gifts helped make the decision to remember Highgate in my will a ‘no brainer.’”
