Eight Decades of Friendship

John Deutsch (SG 1948), David Bell (EG 1948) and Lewis Rudd (EG 1948) reunited in May 2026 to celebrate John's 90th birthday. 

As Lewis explains, the gathering also marked a remarkable milestone in a friendship that stretches back 80 years: 

"John, David and Lewis met in May 2026 at a party to celebrate John's 90th birthday. David's was two days earlier, while I, Lewis, will have to wait until September. 

Our friendship has lasted eighty years since entering the Junior School in 1946. John and I a little longer as we first met at Byron House in North Grove." 

The reunion is a wonderful reminder of the lifelong friendships forged during School days and the enduring connections shared by generations of Old Cholmeleians.
