Marathon Des Sable Race

Between the 4th to the 14th of April, Joel Bowman (MG 2009) will be taking on the infamous Marathon Des Sables. This race involves running 250km (156 miles) over six days in the 40-50°C heat of the Sahara Desert. Not only is it impressive to be running in this heat and that distance, but the race is also “self-sufficient” which means that Joel will be carrying a 10kg bag with all the supplies he would need over the six days.

Joel is running participating in this race to raise funds for Myeloma UK in honour of his dad who has been living with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer that remains incurable, for the past 20 years.
