Successful Evening at OC Pride Drinks
It was great to see such a good turnout for the OC Pride evening last week, despite the disruption caused by tube strikes.
The event, hosted by Ollie Bishop (SH 1995) at ROAST on Frith Street, provided a warm and welcoming setting for the evening. Guests heard from Oliver Zeffman (TL 2011), who shared reflections on his career and spoke about his work as the founder of Classical Pride.
Classical Pride is an annual music festival curated by Oliver to celebrate the breadth and diversity of LGBTQ+ artists across classical music. Since its launch in 2023 - marking the first Pride celebration by a major European orchestra or concert hall - the festival has grown significantly, expanding to five days in 2024 and reaching an international audience in 2025 with an event at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
This year, the festival returns with an ambitious programme, including the Baroque Ball, a unique event bringing classical music to London in a way not seen for centuries. The performance, starring Joe Locke, Dylan Mulvaney, Anthony Roth Costanzo and Nicky Spence, begins on Wednesday 10 June, marking the start of this year’s Classical Pride festival.
