AI to Bridge Gaps

Vivika Martini (WG 2020) was a speaker on a panel discussion at the Farrukh Foundation during LA Tech Week 2024. The topic was Breaking Barriers: AI, STEM, and the Path to a More Inclusive Tech Industry. The panel shared insights on using AI to build a more diverse, equitable industry which Vivika said gave her “new ways to think about AI’s potential to empower and bridge gaps in STEM”.

The Farrukh Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing equal access to education on a global and national level. They are currently working to build K-12 schools for disadvantage kids in the US, Canada and Pakistan. K-12 is the American school system’s grade levels which is equivalent of Year 1 to Year 13.

Vivika is in her final year of studies at UCLA where she has worked in the student group, Bruin AI and is now a Machine Learning Research Intern.
