Bizhan Tong’s (MG 2000) TAPE selected for Miami Film Festival MARIMBAS Award

Congratulations to Bizhan Tong on the selection of his film TAPE for the MARIMBAS Award at the Miami Film Festival - a category that honors bold, forward‑looking international cinema.

Adapted from Stephen Belber’s stage play and Richard Linklater’s Sundance-screening film, TAPE follows three former classmates whose reunion in a Hong Kong apartment unearths long‑buried tensions and truths. Its inclusion places Tong’s work alongside new films from global voices including Steven Soderbergh, Ben Wheatley, and Kirk Jones.

The news follows FILMART (Hong Kong International Film & TV Market), held from 17-20 March, which marked its 30th anniversary this year. With record international participation, FILMART continues to highlight the global reach of Hong Kong storytelling - making TAPE’s selection for the Miami Film Festival especially timely.

Bizhan extends his thanks to the Miami Film Festival programmers and the cast and crew who helped bring the project to life and looks forward to sharing TAPE with audiences in Miami.
