Paul Baker (EG 1987) to Lead National Dental Conference as Society President

Paul Baker (EG 1987)

From 7-9 October, Paul will welcome leading dental professionals from across the UK and beyond to the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) Conference 2026 in York.

Paul is serving as President of the BSP for 2026, marking a significant milestone in a professional career spanning more than three decades. After qualifying as a dentist from King's College School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1992, he went on to qualify as a Specialist Periodontist at Guy's Hospital in 2001. For almost 25 years, he has worked full-time in specialist practice, focusing on periodontics and all aspects of dental implant surgery.

Alongside his clinical work, Paul has made a major contribution to dental education, teaching at every level from undergraduate students to specialist training programmes for the BSP. A dedicated member of the Society for over 20 years, he has served on its Council and represented the organisation on committees at the Royal College of Surgeons.

Reflecting the leadership and expertise that have defined his career, Paul will preside over the BSP Conference 2026, bringing together experts and practitioners from across the profession.

Congratulations to Paul on his appointment and on this significant achievement within the dental profession.
