OC Sports: Golf Honours, Netball Victory and Football Action

It has been another busy fortnight for OC sport, with success on the golf course, a hard-fought netball victory and plenty of action on the football pitch. 

OC Golf Youth Cup | Sunday 27 September 

Despite a smaller field than usual following several late withdrawals, the OC Golf Youth Cup proved to be an enjoyable and closely contested event. Congratulations to Scratch Winner Mitch Pinder (MG 2011) and Handicap Winner Adam Jacobson (SG 2010) on their excellent performances. Thank you to all who took part and contributed to another successful day of OC golf. 

OCs vs Old Berkhamsteadians | Saturday 3 October | Ashridge Golf Club 

After four consecutive victories, the OCs' winning run came to an end against a strong Old Berkhamsteadians side at Ashridge Golf Club. Despite the result, there was a standout performance from Robin Goodfellow (1965 TL), who remained unbeaten on the day.

OC Netball | Wednesday 6 October 

The OC Netball team secured a narrow but well-earned 19-17 victory over 99 Problems in a closely contested match. Congratulations to Jada Jones (KG 2022), who was named Player of the Match for her standout performance. The team will look to build on this result when they face Netchix on 13 October. 

OC Football | Saturday 26 September 

1st XI 5-3 KCS Old Boys 
Goal scorers: Ben Miller (NG 2021) x2, Aaran Parti (MG 2021) 
Assist: Rob Maclennan (TL 2016) 
The 1st XI secured an impressive 5-3 victory over KCS Old Boys in an entertaining, high-scoring encounter, producing a strong attacking display to claim all three points. 
2nd XI 4-3 Brentwood II 
Goal scorer: Ben Cohen (MG 2022) x2, Own goal 
Assist: Wyn Bliss (EG 2021), Ben Turnill (EG 2022) x2 

The 2nd XI edged a thrilling seven-goal contest against Brentwood II, showing great character and resilience to come out on top in a closely fought match. 

OC Football | Saturday 3 October 

1st XI 1-2 Charterhouse 
Goal scorer: Joe Light (FG 2015)   

Despite a spirited performance, the 1st XI were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Charterhouse, with Joe Light (FG 2015) finding the net for the OCs.
