Dr Szydlo Honoured by UCL and Returns to the Royal Institution
Dr Andrew Szydlo
Dr Andrew Szydlo, the much-loved chemistry teacher who has inspired generations of OCs over more than 50 years, continues to receive recognition for his remarkable contribution to science education.
On 10 October, Dr Szydlo will deliver a fourth lecture at the Royal Institution. His talk, Extraordinary Chemical Experiments Which Shaped Today's World, will bring to life the discoveries and personalities that helped shape modern chemistry through a series of spectacular demonstrations, featuring colour changes, fire, smoke and surprises.
The lecture also marks the launch of 111 European Chemists, a new book co-authored by Dr Szydlo.
Adding to an exceptional year, Dr Szydlo has been named one of UCL's "Faces of UCL" as part of the university's 200th anniversary celebrations, recognising 200 alumni who have made a significant impact on society.
We congratulate Andrew on these well-deserved honours and wish him every success with his forthcoming Royal Institution lecture.
