Malcolm Field (NG 1951) has died at age 87
Malcolm Field was at Highgate from Sep 1951 - July 1956 and was in the 1st XI for both cricket and football for two years (a team mate and friend of future Middlesex captain Colin Drybrough).
He was a Governor for ten years from Jan 1995 - Dec 2004 and was (an excellent) Deputy Chairman from 1999.
Notably, he was chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority at 9/11 and surprisingly to the other Governors, still arrived at a School’s Governors' meeting that day, saying "I'm sorry I'm late; I've just had to close British airspace".
