Narrow Losses for Cricket

It was a frustrating Saturday for Old Cholmeleians CC, with both the 1st XI and 2nd XI suffering narrow defeats in closely contested matches. 

1st XI vs Old Minchendenians CC 1st XI 

Result: Lost by 3 runs 
Old Minchendenians CC 1s: 92/9 (31.3) 
Old Cholmeleians CC 1s: 89 (31.1) 

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the 1st XI posted 89 in a tightly fought innings. Magnus Pierre (NG 2013) top scored with 31. 

With the ball, OCs pushed the game to the wire, with Asif Masih producing an outstanding spell of 4-9 and Sam Khalique (HG 1995) adding 2-12. Despite the strong bowling effort, the chase fell just short by three runs.

2nd XI vs Old Minchendenians CC 2nd XI 

Result: Lost by 4 wickets 
Old Cholmeleians CC 2s: 139 (37.2) 
Old Minchendenians CC 2s: 140/6 (36.1) 

The 2nd XI also endured a tight defeat. Batting first, the side posted 139, with Asad Nisiri top scoring with a solid 40. 

In reply, the bowlers kept things competitive. Asad Nisiri took 2-27, while Josh Pullinger (WG 2010) claimed 2-30. However, the opposition edged home with four wickets remaining. 

Despite the results, both matches were hard-fought and showed strong individual performances across the sides.
