OC Fives Update

The OCs secured our first Division 1 victory of the season on Wednesday at Westminster, marking an excellent performance from the squad and a proud moment as two current school students represented the team, further strengthening the connection between the alumni club and the school. Sahil Shah and Ben Merrett claimed a strong 3–1 win over Dan Lioubimov and Oli Hallam (SH 2004) with scores of 12–6, 9–12, 12–8, 12–8. Jonah Poulard and Tommy Chatterjee battled hard but fell 3–0 to Vatche Kassardjian (WG 1992) and Y11 pupil Andrew Lee (SH) with scores of 9–12, 7–12, 12–15. Unfortunately, Nick Choustikov and Shaoquan Shi were forced to forfeit their match against Emily Scoones (GH 2009) and Y11 pupil Edgar Grahame (MG) due to a finger injury, with the score standing at 4–7 before retirement.

It was also an exciting week in the Ladies National competition. The OCs were proudly represented by Emily Scoones, Phoebe Bracken (KG 2017) and Marjolaine Briscoe (WG 2017), all of whom reached the quarter-finals. Phoebe and Marj, returning to the court together for the first time in a while, impressed by winning their group before bowing out 3–0 in the quarter-final. Emily, partnering with her OL teammate, also topped her group and then won her quarter-final 3–0, earning her place in the semi-final in three weeks’ time. Meanwhile, the top ladies’ school pair produced a strong display at this level, reaching the Plate A final. We will share those results and photos once the EFA report is released.

OC Football Update

It was a successful weekend for OC Football, with two excellent wins across the squads. The 1s defeated KCS 2–0 thanks to a superb brace from Ben Miller (NG 2021), while Theo Abramson (MG 2016) delivered an outstanding performance to earn Man of the Match. The 2s secured a 3–2 victory over Berkhampstead, with goals from Alberto Fraquelli (TL 2005) and a double from Oz Satair (MG 2017), and Alberto also earned the Man of the Match accolade for his dominant display.

Looking ahead to this weekend, we have three fixtures lined up. The 1s travel away to Bradfield, the 2s host Eton at home, and our VETS compete in a Cup semi-final, also against Eton. We wish all our players the very best for another strong weekend of OC football.

OC Netball Update

The OC Netball team enjoyed a strong performance this week, securing a confident 21–10 victory over 99 Problems. The squad delivered a composed and energetic display throughout, with excellent teamwork across the court. Special recognition goes to our Players of the Match, Ella Carmen (EG 2019) and Bea Rayner (NG 2018), whose consistency and impact helped drive the team to a decisive win.

The OCs now look ahead to their next fixture on 10 March, where they will face Nets Be Real as they continue their campaign with growing momentum and confidence.
